In winter months, the staff scans the sea for signs of passing whales and signals guests by blowing an alert with a conch shell.

Las Ventanas has 61 guest suites with ocean/garden views. Mediterranean architecture dominates the exteriors, while Mexican motifs inspire interior decor. All rooms are 960 square feet and have wood-burning fireplaces, high-powered telescopes for whale watching and star gazing, whirlpool tubs and guests’ choice of seven pillow types. Large outdoor patios have oversized couches and a small writing desk.
